"Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China" is a 1943 Chinese propaganda song written and composed by Cao Huoxing. It was created in response to the phrase, "Without the Guomindang, there would be no China".

In the summer of 1943, Jiefang Daily published an editorial "Without the Communist Party, there will be no new China" criticizing "The Destiny of China" (中国之命运), and concluded that "if there is no Chinese Communist Party in today's China, there will be no China." then 19-year-old Cao Huoxing, who was a member of the Communist Party of China, created the lyrics. In the late winter of 1989, the Central Literature Publishing House (中央文献出版社) published a collection of essays by Tian Jiaying (田家英), a personal secretary of chairman Mao Zedong, regarding himself and chairman Mao. Pang Xianzhi (逄先知), deputy director of the CPC's Central Literature Research Office (中共中央文献研究室), recalled that it was Mao Zedong who proposed it, and added the word "new": One day in 1950, when Mao Zedong heard his daughter Li Na (李讷) sing this song, he immediately corrected her and said, "When there was no Communist Party, China would have existed long ago; it should be changed to 'Without the Communist Party, there would be no new China'. " After that, Mao Zedong brought this issue to a meeting at the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, and it has been changed since.

Another point is that Cao Huanxing said in his article "A Brief Recollection of the Creation of "Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China": "(Creation) did not have the word 'new' for 'new China' at that time. The Kuomintang did not write the rhetoric of "China". In 1949 during the Pingjin campaign, the Central Propaganda Department pointed out that the title of the song was inappropriate, and only added the word "new".
