"When That Day Comes" (zh. 当那一天来临) is a modern Chinese march song with a bit of a Soviet twist. It was created in 2005 during a contest by the PLA General Political Department (now defunct). It all started in November 2004, when the PLAGPD wanted all military units (and the general public) to create "marching songs that demonstrate the military's fighting spirit", and this song is one of the 25 out of 236 that made it into the final of the contest in June 2005. Eventually, "When That Day Comes" became an official PLA march. The lyrics emphasize the universal ideas of the Chinese motherland and victory. There are other performances of this song.[1]
