Tián Hàn was a Chinese playwright, poet, translator, and drama activist who wrote many music and films. One notable work of his includes the lyrics to the Chinese national anthem, the "March of the Volunteers". He was active during the New Culture Movement and the Cultural Revolution until he was imprisoned in Beijing for two years until his death, aged 70.
