The "Banner of the Party" is a 1948 Yugoslav partisan song created in response to accusations by Cominform, and to the struggle of the newly founded communist state of Yugoslavia against the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union (lead by Stalin) disparaged the struggle of the Yugoslavs, so a campaign was started to support the sovereignty of Yugoslavia, its partisans, and its leader Josip Broz Tito. It was written by Čedomir Minderović and composed by Oskar Danon.

The song had been performed by various orchestras, and it underwent a modern arrangement. The band "Dubrovački poklisari" released this song on a single record together with "Bilećanka" and "Kraj Sutjeske hladne vode".

1977 rearrangement

In 1977, a recording of "Steg Partije" was arranged by the Choir and Orchestra of Radio Novi Sad, in which each stanza was sung respectively in Serbo-Croatian, Hungarian, Slovak, Romanian, and Rusyn.
