The State Anthem of the Republic of Khakassia is one of the official state symbols of the Khakas Republic, a federal subject of Russia
in southwestern Siberia. It is the successor to Khakas song "My Khakassia", which was used as the first regional anthem of the Siberian region between 2007 and 2015.
Russian lyrics were written by Vladislav Torosov and the Khakass lyrics were written by V. Shulbaeva and G. Kazachinova in 2014. The music was composed by German Tanbaev. The anthem was officially adopted on 11 February 2015.[1][2]

In 2007, when deputies first raised the issue of the anthem. A competition between local composers and poets was announced. The commission received more than twenty nominations. Two projects was selected. One of the anthems was written by Tatyana Shalginova and Olga Krivenko, the other by German Tanbaev and Valery Maynashev. A public hearing was held, after which opinions were evenly divided. Later, both options were presented in a session of parliament. The discussions in the Supreme Soviet continued for three years. The texts were constantly sent for revision. The situation became so complicated that the draft law on the anthem was withdrawn from consideration. Two years later, a new working commission headed by Viktor Zimin and Vladimir Shtygashev again announced a competition. This time, eighteen applications were received. And again, in one of the options, the music of German Tanbaev sounds. But this time the words were written by Vladislav Torosov, chairman of the Council of Elders of the Khakass people from 2003 to 2017. These authors eventually won.[4][5][6]
