"Ode To The Motherland" (歌唱祖国) is a Chinese patriotic song written and composed by Wang Shen in 1950, right after Mao Zedong's proclamation of the People's Republic of China.[1][2][3][4][5][6] The song was performed in the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2019 Military World Games, the 2022 Winter Olympics (during China's entry at the Parade of Nations) and the 2021 Summer Universiade.

Chorus:
The five-star red flag flutters in the wind,
How loud is the victory song;
𝄆 Sing our dear motherland,
From now on to prosperity. 𝄇
Over the mountains, over the plains,
Across the galloping Yellow River and Yangtze River;
wide and beautiful land,
is our dear hometown,
The heroic people stand up!
Our unity and fraternity are as strong as steel.
Chorus
We are hardworking, we are brave,
Independence and freedom is our ideal;
How much suffering we have overcome,
Just got the liberation today!
We love peace, we love our homeland,
Whoever dares to violate us will perish!
Chorus
The eastern sun, rising,
The People's Republic is growing;
Our leader Mao Zedong,
guide the way forward.
Our life goes up every day,
Our future is bright.
Chorus
