National Anthem- Costa Rica - Noble patria, tu hermosa bandera

Current official[]

Spanish original[]

¡Noble patria!, tu hermosa bandera
Expresión de tu vida nos da;
Bajo el límpido azul de tu cielo
Blanca y pura descansa la paz.

En la lucha tenaz, de fecunda labor,
Que enrojece del hombre la faz;
Conquistaron tus hijos, labriegos sencillos,
𝄆 Eterno prestigio, estima y honor. 𝄇

¡Salve, oh tierra gentil!
¡Salve, oh madre de amor!
Cuando alguno pretenda tu gloria manchar,
Verás a tu pueblo, valiente y viril,
La tosca herramienta en arma trocar.

¡Salve, oh patria!, tu pródigo suelo
Dulce abrigo y sustento nos da;
Bajo el límpido azul de tu cielo,
¡Vivan siempre el trabajo y la paz![2][3]

English version[]

Noble fatherland, thy flag glamorous
of thine anima gives us face
Under thy sky blue and luminous;
white and pure lies peace.

In tough struggle, of fecund labour,
Makes the face of man blush;
Thy children, plain farmhands, conquered
𝄆 eternal prestige, value and honor. 𝄇

Hail, o gentle land!
Hail, o mother of love!
If one tries to daub thine honor,
Thy people, audacious and brave,
A rough tool that'll transform into a weapon.

Hail, o fatherland! Thy soil copious
gives us sweet shelter and life
Under thy sky blue and luminous
Forever may travail and peace live!
