The National Anthem of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, known by its incipit as "Be Hotter and Hotter", was the fourth national anthem of Afghanistan, when it transitioned into a one-party socialist republic (and subsequently became a satellite state of the Soviet Union) after the 1978 Saur Revolution. The lyrics were written by Sulaimān Lāyiq on behalf of the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA) led by Afghan communist revolutionary Nur Muhammad Taraki. The music was composed by Jalil Ghahland and arranged by Ustad Salim Sarmast.

In 1987, Afghanistan officially abolished the communist regime; however, the national anthem was still in use. In 1992, it was replaced by "Fortress of Islam, Heart of Asia", the national anthem of the Islamic State of Afghanistan.

Lyrics

The national anthem consisted of three stanzas and refrains, beginning with the refrain. On many occasions, just the first chorus and verse is performed.
