Moscow—Beijing

"Moscow—Beijing" (Москва–北京) is a Soviet-era mass song about the friendship between the Russian SFSR and the People's Republic of China, before the Sino-Soviet split. It was written by Mikhail Vershinin while imprisoned at the Gulag in 1949, and it was put to music by Vano Muradeli, commemorating Stalin's 70th birthday. The song was written to celebrate the newly formed communist Chinese regime. However, in the 1960s when relations between the two countries' relations split, this song was no longer popular.
