The "Triumphal March" was the anthem of the Papal States between 1857 and 1870. It was also the first personal anthem of the Pope, as well as the former state anthem of Vatican City used until 1949 when it was replaced by "Inno e Marcia Pontificale". It was written in 1857 by Viktorin Hallmayer.
