"Triumphant March" is Romania's first national anthem. It was used between 1862 and 1884 by the Ottoman vassal of the Romanian United Principalities when the unification of Moldavia and Wallachia. It was composed by Eduard Hüsch, and the song did not have any lyrics.
It is used by the Romanian Land Forces for ceremonies and to praise high-ranking foreign persons.[1][2]
History[]
In 1861, a contest was organized to decide the national anthem of the country with a prize of 100 golden coins. Hübsch won the contest, and the march was officially adopted on 22 January 1862.[1][2]
