The "Inno nazionale della Repubblica" is the official national anthem of San Marino. It is performed in official ceremonies. The music was written by Jewish-Italian composer Federico Consolo in 1894[1][2] and first executed at the inauguration of the new Palazzo Pubblico government building.
Proposed lyrics were written by Italian poet Giosuè Carducci who also wrote the inaugurational speech, but never adopted.
Predecessors anthem, though with no official status, were the "Giubilanti d'amore fraterno"[1] military march by Ulisse Balsimelli and "Inno Patrio" by Luigi Para.

Trivia[]
- It is one of the four national anthems of the world which does not contain official lyrics—the others being "National Anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina", "Anthem of the Republic of Kosovo", and "Marcha Real".
- While widely accepted by the population, the pop song "Romagna mia" is often considered as a co-anthem if not a substitution candidate.
- The lyrics, despite being taught in schools and occasionally performed live or used as TV jingles, are still unknown and even less popular. It is despised and openly mocked for the slow tempo and the "cringy" and over inflated pompous rethoric.
