"God Be With Our Suriname", also known as "Rise, Countrymen", is the national anthem of Suriname. Adopted in 1959, the lyrics and music come from the late 19th century. Cornelis Atses Hoekstra and Henry de Ziel wrote the lyrics of this song in 1893, and Johannes Corstianus de Puy composed the music in 1876.[1]
The first verse is in Dutch and the second verse is in the English-based Creole.
