Austria

Austria is a country in Central Europe. German is the main language spoken there. Historically its land had been settled by the Celts since the Late Bronze Age (Hallstatt culture). The Romans came around 15 B.C. and formed the three provinces Raetia, Noricum and Pannonia. Then from the early Middle Ages, it became part of Holy Roman Empire until its defeat by France. Former Holy Roman Emperor Francis II then became emperor of Austria-Hungary.
