The Anthem of the Warsaw Pact, also known as the Song of the United Armies, is a patriotic song written in Russian during the Cold War. The lyrics emphasize the unity of the armies and peoples of the Soviet Union, Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Romania, and that they are ready to repel any attack by enemy powers such as NATO.[1]
The lyrics were written by poet Lev Oshanin, and the music was composed by Boris Alexandrov.[2]

English translation[]
We don't want war, but again
If the enemy disturbs our peace,
We are ready for peace and happiness
For a formidable battle, for a righteous battle.
We'll strike in response to aggression,
The land of Soviets and China,
Pole and Czech, Romanian, Bulgarian –
Try to count us!
Chorus:
Friends, friends, keep your gunpowder dry,
Friends, friends, align your strong formation!
For children's laughter in sunny expanses,
For free labour, for free labour, we are ready for battle!
Cursed be their terrible atom,
For it will not deliver them victories.
Soldiers of labour and reason,
We have the answer to everything!
Cursed be their terrible atom,
But we know for sure:
A beating heart means more,
Than bullets from a machine!
Chorus
Our land flame and labour
If the enemy dares to touch –
Half of humanity will raise
Its armoured fist!
We are in battles on any bridgehead
We will go forward as one,
The unity of our brotherly armies
Will again save the life of this Earth!
Chorus[3]
